Station remediation works in progress

A range of remediation works are underway at both Colo Vale and Hill Top stations as part of the Loop Line Upgrade Project.

At Hill Top, works have commenced on repairs to the platform, surrounding embankments and access points. In addition, construction of a new pedestrian level crossing to the platform will commence in the new year.

At Colo Vale, repairs to the earthworks and fencing installation have now been completed. Final landscaping and garden works, as well as station building repairs and repainting will follow in the coming months.

Targeted fencing works underway

Transport Heritage NSW is undertaking a range of targeted fencing works along the full length of the Loop Line.

These works have focused primarily on station precincts, level crossings, and a small number of identified locations to prevent unauthorised access to the rail corridor.

As part of this work, a number of illegal and unauthorised pathways or access points have been removed. These changes are to reduce risk, comply with national safety requirements, and protect everyone who enjoys or lives near our railway.

Culvert, rerailing and bolting works draw to a close

A number of track work packages along the Loop Line are now drawing to a close.

Four transom top culverts have been replaced with a new concrete ballast-top design, marking the completion of all major culvert works.

Rerailing and bolting works are also nearing completion, with approximately 7,000 metres of rail installed and more than 4,000 bolts fitted.

Sydney Trains and Transport Heritage NSW are working together to deliver the installation of new signalling infrastructure along the Loop Line.

Completed activities include the installation of recycled ground frames and channel iron at various locations, as well as home signals and landmarks at the Colo Vale end.

We extend our thanks to the Sydney Trains mechanical signalling team for their valued assistance throughout this project.
