Transport Heritage Expo celebrates record year

The award-winning Transport Heritage Expo has achieved its biggest year yet, with more than 16,000 tickets sold across the October long weekend – a 30% increase on last year.

Building on a history of sold-out events since its inception, this year’s Expo featured more trains and greater capacity to meet growing demand.

The record result reflects the momentum behind the event and the support it enjoys across a diverse range of audiences, bringing together families, transport enthusiasts and visitors of all ages to experience NSW’s transport heritage in the heart of Sydney.

From heritage train and vintage bus rides to unique experiences at Central Station, the Expo continues to connect new audiences with the people, stories and vehicles that helped shape our state.

Transport Heritage NSW extends a big thank you to our event partners, volunteers and staff who made this record year possible, and to Transport for NSW, including Sydney Trains and NSW TrainLink staff, for their invaluable support.

Special thanks go to Transport Asset Manager for its ongoing funding and support, and to Downer, sponsor of this year’s Great Train Race.

Thank you to everyone who joined us and helped make Transport Heritage Expo 2026 our biggest yet.
