Sydney’s Central Station transformed into a gateway to Hogwarts last weekend, as Audible Express celebrated the launch of Harry Potter: The Full-Cast Audio Editions with a magical steam train journey operated by Transport Heritage NSW.
More than 750 guests travelled behind Steam Locomotive 3526, departing from Central Station for an unforgettable trip through Sydney’s south. Guided by actors in Audible uniforms, passengers were immersed in the wizarding world as the new full-cast audiobook brought the beloved story to life along the journey.
The platform was alive with energy, featuring interactive activations, themed photo opportunities and a live string quartet performing the iconic Harry Potter score.
Transport Heritage NSW was proud to work with The Seeker Agency to help deliver this extraordinary experience — bringing together heritage, storytelling and the wonder of steam.
“When looking to launch a new Harry Potter audiobook in Sydney, there’s no better way to bring the magic of Hogwarts to life than aboard a real steam train through the heart of Australia’s biggest city,” a THNSW spokesperson said.
The Audible Express experience demonstrated the power of blending popular culture with Australia’s rich transport heritage — creating a unique, memorable event that celebrated both imagination and history.
