ENGINEERING STANDARDS
The Transport Heritage Network Engineering Standards contain various Engineering Standards, including associated documents such as Engineering Manuals and Engineering Specifications that can be used on Tourist and Heritage Networks.
ENGINEERING STANDARDS
Transport Heritage New South Wales (THNSW) develops and holds these standards on behalf of the sector in NSW.
Tourist and Heritage Networks (THN) railways are those in the NSW Tourist and Heritage sector where a Rail Infrastructure Manager (RIM) adopts these engineering standards in whole or part.
These standards are structured to be general in nature to allow re-use across multiple RIMs. Individual RIMs adopt the use of these standards by provision within their own Safety Management Systems (SMSs) and Engineering Standards.
Where RIMs do not fully adopt the standards owing to their own operational context, they have the options of partial adoption or internally assessing concessions to the standards.
If an organisation wishes to use these standards, please contact us to register interest. Agreement must be obtained from THNSW prior to use.
